Pendennis Shipyard

Who they are

Pendennis Shipyard, established in 1989 in Falmouth, employs over 180 craftsmen including highly-skilled steel and aluminium fabricators, experienced joiners, boat builders, electricians, mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers and paint technicians.

What they do

Pendennis Shipyard builds and refurbishes some of the world's most technologically advanced and luxury super yachts. The company was recently awarded a Regional Selective Assistance grant to fund a major development which provides an environmentally controlled dry dock capable of refitting yachts up to 70 metres. The dock measures 75 metres long and is 25 metres wide with an air draught of 19 metres. Also included in the development are a new fitting out/refit hall, new joinery and finishing workshops, offices and dedicated store rooms.

The new covered dock facility will also allow Pendennis to further develop their Painting and Yacht finishing skills. There is a major Skills Centre planned within the confines of Pendennis and managed by Marine South West, which will ensure that fully trained craftsman will be available to apply the very high quality surface finishes demanded for this type of vessel.
