Yeo Valley's commitment to organic dairy
farming and investment in environmental conservation has been
rewarded with a second Queen's Award in five years.
Who they are
Yeo Valley has been producing yogurt since
1974. However, in 1993, Yeo Valley began producing organic yogurts
with milk supplied by The Organic Milk Suppliers' Cooperative Ltd.
Due to the success of this venture, they decided to create a
company totally dedicated to organic produce. Thus, in 1996, The
Yeo Valley Organic Company Ltd was formed.
What they do
Located on a dairy farm in Somerset, Yeo
Valley produce a number of brand leaders: Organic Virtually Fat
Free Fruited Yogurts; Organic Children's Yogurt; Organic Creme
Fraiche; Organic Cream; Organic Fruit Compotes; Organic Butter and
Organic Frozen Yogurts.
All the products are certified as being
totally organic by the Soil Association and carry a seal of
approval that guarantees the "Organicness" and integrity of the
products.

coincide with the Queen's 80th birthday in 2006, the award for
Sustainable Development recognises the company's continuing support
for organic farming and farmers in the South West, as well as the
company's efforts to minimise its impact on the environment.
