Who they are
Newton Abbot based company, Westaways are
professional sausage makers, using only the finest British Pork to
make fresh, succulent, juicy, but low fat Traditional Butcher's
sausages. Managing Director, Steve Turton originally owned a high
street butchers in Exeter. When 2 supermarkets opened nearby and
were squeezing his margins, in 2000, Mr Turton bought specialist
sausage maker, Westaways. Turnover has shot up from £90,000 to £3.5
million.
What they do
Based in a bespoke factory in Newton Abbot,
Devon they have the capacity to handle orders from the smallest
corner shop in the region, to pallet orders anywhere in the world.
Today, they supply Caterers, Butchers, Delicatessens, Food Service
Companies, and over 500 retailers in the West Country.
They also now export to the four corners of
the world - currently to the Far East, the Mediterranean, Falkland
Islands and the Caribbean. Their Honey Roast and West Country Pork
Sausages are sold in Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Co-op and Safeway
stores across the region and nationwide.
