BAE Systems
BAE SYSTEMS is a key prime contractor in the South West of
England with 19 offices and manufacturing sites. The company
employs over 100,000 people worldwide, over 50,000 of those based
in the UK.
What they do
The company takes a leading role in joint programmes for
military and civil aircraft such as Eurofighter, Joint Strike
Fighter and Airbus in partnership with the world's other leading
aircraft companies.
They also undertake some of the most important R&D work in
Advanced Technology (ATC) which concentrates on areas of key
strategic importance within the defence and aerospace arena and
include Micro and Nano Technologies, C41SR, Autonomous Systems and
Battlespace Information and Knowledge.
The technology capabilities and activities of the ATC cover a
broad spectrum from hardware to software development, composite
materials to stealth techniques, sensing systems to synthetic
environments.
